Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Student Activities Division at the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific seminar on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, entitled “Social Media and Its Psychological and Emotional Impact on University Students’ Lives” for the period April 15–16, 2026.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the psychological and emotional effects of social media on university students’ lives, as well as its impact on their daily behavior and academic achievement. It also sought to raise students’ awareness of the optimal use of these platforms in a way that ensures a balance between digital and real-life engagement. Furthermore, the seminar addressed the major challenges students face due to excessive use of social media and presented a set of guidelines and recommendations aimed at promoting mental well-being and enhancing digital awareness.
