Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of History at the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific course entitled “Mechanisms of Writing Historical Research for Graduate Students” for the period April 13–14, 2026.
The course aimed to familiarize graduate students with the scientific and methodological foundations of writing historical research, and to outline the stages of research preparation, beginning with topic selection and problem formulation, followed by the collection and analysis of sources and references, and concluding with writing results and documenting them in accordance with approved academic standards.
The course also presented an overview of the most important historical methodologies and approaches to criticism and analysis, highlighting the skills of academic documentation and ways to avoid common errors in research writing. In addition, it provided practical guidelines aimed at enhancing students’ research capabilities and improving the quality of their academic output.
