The College of Education for Humanities, in Cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, Organizes a Scientific Course Entitled “Hydrological Risks Resulting from Exceptional Floods and Their Environmental Impacts”

Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of Geography at the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific course entitled “Hydrological Risks Resulting from Exceptional Floods and Their Environmental Impacts” for the period April 13–14, 2026.

The course aimed to shed light on the nature of hydrological risks arising from exceptional floods, identifying their causes and the factors influencing their occurrence. It also discussed their environmental impacts on natural resources and infrastructure, as well as ways to mitigate their consequences through the adoption of sustainable water management strategies and the enhancement of preventive measures and proactive planning.

Furthermore, the course included a scientific review of several case studies and applied models, along with recommendations aimed at raising environmental awareness and strengthening research efforts in the field of natural disaster risk management, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development.
