The College of Education for Humanities, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, Holds a Scientific Seminar Entitled (“Self-Learning in the Age of Digital Abundance”)

Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of Geography at the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, held a scientific seminar entitled “Self-Learning in the Age of Digital Abundance” on Wednesday, 25/2/2026.

The seminar, delivered by Lecturer Dr. Amer Mughair Latif and Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Mohammed Ayyash, aimed to highlight the importance of self-learning in light of rapid digital transformations and the abundance of knowledge resources available through online platforms and open-access databases. It emphasized the development of students’ skills in research, analysis, and independent knowledge acquisition.

The seminar also addressed mechanisms for employing modern technologies to support lifelong learning, utilizing digital tools to enhance critical thinking, time management, and effective information management. Furthermore, it discussed the challenges faced by learners in a digital environment characterized by a multiplicity of sources and varying levels of reliability.
