The College of Education for Humanities Celebrates World Arabic Language Day under the Slogan “Our Language Is a Renewing Identity”

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Tikrit, Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Prof. Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the College held a celebration on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Al-Khwarizmi Hall on the occasion of World Arabic Language Day.

The celebration honored the global history of the Arabic language, celebrated its enduring presence, and highlighted its intrinsic connection to the Holy Qur’an, as well as its profound creative impact across the ages. The event commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the Iraqi National Anthem and the recitation of Al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq.

This was followed by a speech delivered by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, in which he extended his congratulations to the Arab and Islamic worlds on the occasion of World Arabic Language Day, observed annually on December 18. In his address, he emphasized the history and authenticity of the Arabic language, describing it as the lifeblood of civilization and the radiant face of Arab and Islamic culture.

The celebration also featured the recitation of eloquent Arabic poetry and the delivery of academic lectures on “The Arabic Language and Artificial Intelligence.”
At the conclusion of the event, the President of the University of Tikrit, Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, honored the top-ranking students of the four academic stages in the Department of Arabic Language with certificates of appreciation.
