Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of History at the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific course entitled “The Mechanism of Writing Historical Research for Undergraduate Students” for the period April 21–22, 2026.
The course aimed to familiarize students with the scientific and methodological foundations of historical research writing and to develop their skills in selecting research topics and formulating research problems. It also provided training on methods of collecting and analyzing sources and references in accordance with sound academic approaches.
Furthermore, the course addressed the stages of preparing historical research, beginning with defining the research title and developing a research plan, followed by documenting information according to established academic standards, and concluding with writing results and recommendations, thereby contributing to enhancing students’ academic and research competencies.
