The College of Education for Humanities, Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, discussed on Thursday, 23 April 2026, the doctoral dissertation submitted by the student Mohammed Qahtan Mohammed Al-Tamimi, entitled:
“The Effectiveness of an Educational Program in Developing Cognitive Agility and Reducing Boredom among Preparatory School Students.”

The study aimed to develop an educational program to enhance cognitive agility and reduce boredom among preparatory school students. The researcher constructed two scales: cognitive agility (36 items) and boredom (45 items), and verified their validity and reliability. In addition, a structured educational program consisting of 17 sessions was designed and reviewed by a panel of experts to ensure its suitability.

The research sample consisted of 30 fourth-grade preparatory students in Salah Al-Din Governorate for the academic year 2024–2025. The participants were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups, using a pre-test and post-test experimental design.

The study yielded several findings, including:

  1. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the program in favor of the experimental group, with well-performing scale items. The reliability coefficients reached (0.89) and (0.80) for the cognitive agility scale, and (0.87) and (0.83) for the boredom scale, indicating good reliability.
  2. There was no statistically significant difference at the (0.05) level between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-test of the cognitive agility scale.
  3. There was no statistically significant difference at the (0.05) level between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group on the cognitive agility scale.
  4. There was no statistically significant difference at the (0.05) level between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups on the boredom scale.
  5. There was no statistically significant difference at the (0.05) level between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group on the boredom scale.
